Yangzhou Polytechnic College
Yangzhou Polytechnic College, founded in 1984, is located in the beautiful city Yangzhou, Jiangsu, which was awarded United Nation Habitat Award in 2006. The college, as a full-time comprehensive vocational college, is one of the first-class vocational-technical colleges that passed the intellectual training level assessment organized by Chinese Education Department. In the Academic Evaluation Report of Chinese Higher Educational Schools and Disciplines 2015, the college ranked 17th among all the 1322 vocational-technical colleges in China, and 4th in Jiangsu Province.
The college has 863 teachers including 613 with master’s or doctor’s degree. The number of professors and associate professors are 70 and 408 respectively. The college also has 4 nationwide-prominent teachers, 22 provincial and municipal young experts, 2 provincial exemplary teaching teams and 2 provincial high-tech creative research teams.
The college has 22 teaching faculties, 21 official departments and 5 education-aid units consisting of 356 basic and academic labs in which the total expense of the teaching facilities is 188 million. There are about 1.49 million books and 1.4 million e-reading materials in the library as well as more than 2000 journals and magazines. The majors in the college are 71 within 17 categories such as mechanical engineering, automobile, textile, business management, economics, medicine, telecommunication, IT.
The college is active in cooperation and communication with universities, colleges and social organizations overseas, setting up 7 international cooperative programs with American, Canadian and South Korean universities and colleges. It has also established exchange relationship with colleges in over ten countries and regions.
